Leverage existing data Quickly get an overview of the area using the built-in map and satellite imagery. If you have PDF maps or drawings, you can easily rotate and scale them to fit the correct position. Add existing CAD drawings to establish a strong foundation. You can also order, for example, property boundaries via our On Demand service (add-on service—available in Sweden only).

Create your own models Using your existing data as a foundation, you can easily create detailed, georeferenced, and measurable 2D or 3D models. Create points and lines and generate triangulated surfaces. With built-in features such as interpolation, slope creation, and more, you can quickly produce the model you need.

Analyze your data Compare different models to identify the best solution, calculate volumes and quantities for accurate estimates, and detect potential issues and clashes before sending the model to production.

Additional Services High-quality base data leads to better results. With SkyMap’s On Demand service, you can order property information and other data that simplifies the planning of your project. Convert your drone images There are many advanced software solutions for processing drone imagery. We chose to make it simple instead. No expensive or complex software. No special settings that take hours to learn. No local installation requiring powerful and costly hardware that blocks your computer during processing. And no issues with storing or sharing the heavy data generated by drone imagery. Simple and practical.

Fast, simple, and efficient With SkyMap’s cloud processing, you avoid these challenges. Once your drone flight is complete, simply upload your images to us. Include a GCP file (Ground Control Points) with measured coordinates to enable georeferencing. Next, a GCP adjustment (so-called “flagging”) is performed, where images and GCPs are matched. This step doesn’t take long—but if you want to save even more time, our specialists can do it for you. Once the adjustment is complete, cloud processing begins. It’s a quick process, so stay nearby. The advantage is that everything happens in the cloud, allowing you to continue working on other tasks without your computer being tied up by image processing.

Results Cloud processing can generate orthophotos, point clouds, and 3D models. You select your desired package before starting the process. Once processing is complete, you can visualize the results in SkyView or download the data in standard file formats for further work in other software.

High accuracy SkyMap originates from the surveying industry, and we understand the importance of accurate and measurable results. The more precise your ground control points (GCPs), the more accurate your output will be. You can verify accuracy directly in the system during the GCP adjustment process. Of course, factors such as drone equipment, flight method, and terrain characteristics also play a key role. As a rule of thumb, a properly executed drone survey should achieve an accuracy of ±30 mm—comparable to a standard GNSS rover.

Pay for what you use Our standard cloud processing packages are highly cost-effective. You are always billed afterwards based on actual usage.

Seamless file flow between SkyMap and your machine control system SkyMap Connect links file management in SkyMap Portal with the machine control system in the excavator. From the office, you can review project data against the digital twin of the construction site in SkyView and ensure that the correct files are always available in the machine. You can also retrieve measurement files from the machine for verification and as-built documentation. This eliminates the need to upload and download files between different systems and platforms—or to run around with a USB drive every time a model is revised or updated.

Add-on service Connect is an add-on service within SkyMap Portal. An active SkyMap license is required to enable the service in your project.

Field photos with location data SkyMap OnSite is a powerful tool for documenting and communicating directly from the field. The app’s photo feature allows users to take pictures on-site, with each image automatically saved with location data (GPS coordinates) and the option to add descriptions. This means you can quickly and easily document where work has been carried out, where an issue has occurred, or where action is needed – directly on-site. Photos are seamlessly transferred from the field to the office and automatically saved as Points of Interest (POIs) in the project’s SkyView. This makes the information available to the entire project team in real time – and places it exactly where the image was captured, providing a clear visual overview of project status.

• Document work activities Capture photos of excavation, pipe installation, curbs, paving, and other on-site activities – directly in the field.

• Show work before it is covered Take photos of, for example, pipe installations before backfilling – important for both documentation and quality control.

• Report obstacles or deviations Photograph issues such as damaged utilities, geotechnical obstacles, or incorrect deliveries – with precise location data.

• Support quantity verification and invoicing Photo documentation with GPS positioning can help verify the scope of completed work.

Direct access to documentation In addition to the photo feature, SkyMap OnSite provides direct access to the project’s File Manager. This means you can quickly and easily access the latest documents, drawings, and files directly from your mobile device in the field. You can also download files to your phone and view PDFs using your device’s built-in PDF reader.
